This Massive Texas Mineral Spa Has 40+ Hot Springs Inspired by Destinations Around the World

Ever find yourself scrolling through travel TikToks or reels, wishing for a plane ticket in your inbox, but not enough to brave a day of delays and a suitcase that somehow weighs more coming home than it did going out?

The world is right at your feet. Jump in or dip a toe at WorldSprings, a spa with mineral hot springs, in The Colony. Weave your way through more than 40 mineral hot springs with temps from the mid 80s to the low 100s and even cold plunges as low as 55℉.

It’s not your standard spa day where you check in, get a treatment, and head out, but rather a full map of mineral pools inspired by places across the globe, all set up in a way where you can move between them at your own pace and build your day however you want.

As Texans, we do love a good road trip, we love seeing something new, but we also love convenience.

There’s something satisfying about pulling into a parking lot in North Texas and walking into a big facility that lets you experience a whole range of environments … without ever leaving the state.

Plan it right, soak it slow

Before you head out, it’s worth knowing how to plan your visit, so you can actually enjoy it instead of figuring things out on the fly.

WorldSprings operates on a day-pass model, which gives you access to all of the pools and amenities for a set period of time. While pricing shifts depending on day and demand, expect it to land in that “treat yourself” range rather than a low-cost drop-in you do every day.

They also offer memberships, which make more sense if you live nearby or see yourself coming back regularly. One way to enjoy it more is by becoming more familiar with the layout and finding out what you like to do most.

I recommend making reservations, and on weekends, they’re pretty much essential! Be aware that reservations sell out when demand is high. They actually control capacity to keep the space from feeling too crowded, which is part of why it still feels relatively calm even when it’s busy.

Get to WorldSprings 15 minutes early to check in and pick up your wristbands. You also must have a valid photo ID at check-in, so have it ready.

Link your wristband to your credit card to pay throughout the property, like a MagicBand.

Love a robe at a spa? Got you covered. WorldSprings has robes to buy or rent at check-in.

In terms of hours, you’re generally looking at late morning openings and evening closures, so choose whether you want a daytime visit, a sunset soak, or a late evening decompress when the temperatures drop and the warm pools feel even better.

Their hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, they’re open 1 hour earlier, at 9 a.m., and close 1 hour later, at 10 p.m. Perfect for early birds and night owls alike!

You’ll need to sign a guest waiver. Once signed, it’s valid for 1 year. Each guest must sign their own waiver. Guests also need to be 16 years old or older.

Let’s dive into peak and off-peak times, because it does make a difference.

Weekends tend to draw larger crowds, as expected, including groups of friends, couples, and people celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, and so on.

Expect to find more energy, more conversation, and a little less room to linger in your favorite pool.

Weekdays, especially earlier in the day, are quieter, and if you’re someone who wants to take it in slowly, try multiple pools without waiting, and really settle in, that’s your window.

Parking is straightforward, with plenty of spots around the Grandscape shopping mall. Depending on when you arrive, you’ll need to take a short walk to the entrance, so plan for that when you’re choosing what to wear.

Once you’re inside, you’ll have access to lockers, changing areas, and towels, which keeps things simple and means you don’t need to bring much beyond a swimsuit, sandals, and your must-haves.

WorldSprings recommends packing sandals, a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. They take care of towels, shower soaps, blow dryers, and wet-swimsuit bags. Plus, there are private hot showers!

They’re tricky about filming, since it’s mostly a place to relax and unwind. Don’t bring any tripods, selfie sticks, or drones, and keep video shots to a minimum, if you can.

Food and drinks are available on-site at the spa, so you don’t need to leave for meals. The Springs Cafe and Bar is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

You’ll see people settling in for several hours at a time, actually, rotating between soaking, eating, and relaxing, like families you see camped out at a water park. Just be careful not to eat in the hot springs; stick to sitting in chairs or near a table.

One practical note that’s easy to overlook? Hydration matters here.

You’re switching between hot pools, warm pools, and cold plunges, and even if you don’t feel it right away, that combination can wear on you. Keep water nearby — it’s one of the easiest ways to make sure you actually enjoy your full experience.

WorldSprings also has hydration stations with infused water — worth stopping at between soaks.

And the biggest tip I’d give?

Give yourself plenty of time. This isn’t something you rush through, and if you try to treat it like a quick breeze-through, you’ll miss most of what makes it worth going.

On the map are the world’s minerals

Once you’re inside, the layout fans out like spokes from a hub — and the fun is figuring out which one to follow first.

WorldSprings is set up with multiple pools grouped, each one modeled after minerals from different regions around the world, including the Dead Sea, Italy, Iceland, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, and Guatemala.

Instead of parking yourself firmly at one spot, the idea is to move between them and experiment with a variety.

You’ll notice pretty quickly that the pools differ not just in temperature, but also in how the water feels to the touch, which is where a “world at your feet” concept really comes through.

Some pools are hotter and designed for relaxing muscles. Here, you’ll spot people sitting still, shoulders submerged, letting the heat do the work.

Other pools are cooler, such as cold plunges designed for contrast. While they’re not everyone’s cup of sweet tea, they do add something to the experience, especially when you move back into a warmer pool soon after.

That’s one of the best feelings for me, getting to bounce out of a cool pool straight into another pool’s warm waters. Nothing like it!

Some pools have higher mineral content, where you’ll be able to lean back more easily and float without effort, a noticeable shift from swimming in an ordinary pool.

That’s a good cue for an important tip. Since there’s a high mineral content in the spa’s waters, jewelry and some swimsuits or materials will get tarnished or discolored. Be sure to safely stow any jewelry, or leave it at home, especially any heirlooms.

Instead of following a set route, many people move through the space based on what feels right in the moment, trying one pool, then another, sometimes circling back to a favorite.

The transitions between hot and cold, or between different mineral levels, are part of what keeps the experience fun and new, so you’re not just sitting in one place for hours.

That said, there’s nothing wrong with finding your favorite spot and staying put — I’ve done it, and it’s just as satisfying.

Around the pools are seating areas where you can take a break, dry off, or just sit for a while before deciding where to go next. Note that these spots tend to fill in or open up as people pace themselves throughout the day.

Cabanas are available for purchase if you want a private setup, especially if you’re coming with a group of friends or as couples. It’ll give you a designated area to store your things, sit in the shade, and regroup between rounds.

Even when it’s busy, the atmosphere stays relaxed, because people are spread out across different pools rather than all stuffed into one area. The design does a good job of keeping things from bottlenecking.

What stands out to me is how easy it looks to settle into a rhythm that’s just right for you.

You start in a warmer pool, swap to something cooler, take a break, grab a drink, and then head back into a different section, and before long, you’ve tried several different sequences without really having to think too hard about it.

It’s not overwhelming, but it also doesn’t get repetitive, a balance that’s harder to strike than it appears.

And while it’s easy to focus on the pools themselves, the setting certainly adds a lot.

You’re outdoors, with an open Texas sky above you, and that familiar backdrop keeps it grounded, even as you’re switching between spaces inspired by other parts of the world.

WorldSprings keeps firepits lit on winter days and into the evenings year-round.

Okay, but where is it exactly? WorldSprings is located at:

3240 Plano Pkwy, The Colony, TX 75056

By the time you head out, you’ve likely been there longer than you planned, and that’s kind of the point.

It’s not about checking something off a list, but about settling in, testing out different pools, and letting the day stretch a little.

After all, the world’s there for you. Patient. Steady. In the minerals. In the tangible feel of it on your skin.

As you walk back out into the parking lot, sandals back on, hair still damp, it’s hard not to appreciate how simple they’ve made it.

No flights, no packing, no itinerary. Just a well-designed space where you can let the world’s waters and minerals wash over you.

So, the next time you’re thinking about getting away, but don’t want the hassle that usually comes with it, this spot in The Colony makes a pretty strong case.

You show up, you meander at your own pace, and for a few hours, you get something different without ever leaving the Lone Star State.
