Rayo’s Taqueria is a family operation in the truest sense. Naun Rayo had spent more than two decades working in chain restaurants, dreaming of opening his own place.

In 2017, his wife Briceida spotted a “for lease” sign at a gas station on Jupiter Road and Northwest Highway. They took a chance on a small space and started serving tacos and burritos.

The family would gather every Sunday to prep food together, practicing recipes and building the foundation for something bigger.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, the Rayos moved to their current location on East Northwest Highway—a proper restaurant with indoor seating, outdoor tables, and room to grow.

Today, Rayo’s draws a mixed crowd of neighborhood regulars, food bloggers, and out-of-towners who’ve heard the buzz.

The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with friendly staff who remember their customers.
