Vonn did pop the question to the hockey star P.K. Subban. Vonn tweeted on Christmas Day that Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone, and that on their two-year anniversary, in a non traditional move, she asked PK to marry her. Well, he said yes. Oh yes, women aren’t the only ones who should get engagement rings, said Subban.
The former ski racer wrote in the tweet with the hashtags – “MerryChristmas” and “equality.”
Accordingly, Vonn posted a picture of herself and Subban with the ring. The couple were wearing matching striped pajamas and standing in front of a Christmas tree, with 3 dogs in the foreground. Also, she linked with a close-up of Subban flashing the ring, together with the words “Drip drip” and a blue teardrop.
In August, Vonn also said on social media that they were engaged.
Recently, the 35-year-old Vonn did retire from a skiing career which included 3 Olympic medals, 4 overall World Cup titles and 82 World Cup race wins, a record for a woman.
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old Subban won the 2013 Norris Trophy with Montreal as the NHL’s top defenseman. In June, he was traded to New Jersey from Nashville.
In the past, Vonn had a high-profile relationship with Tiger Woods. Then previously she was married to former ski racer Thomas Vonn, and still kept his last name after they separated.
